Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel a publicly scheduled walk or talk

Due to limited spaces on our walks and talks, we request that if you need to cancel you do so at least four weeks before by emailing us at info@dartmoorsdaughter.com

Events will go ahead come rain or shine (with the exceptions mentioned below in ‘If we need to cancel or postpone’.). We do not offer refunds. If you cancel more than 4 weeks before the date of the walk or experience we will send you a credit note to use within 1 year minus a £5 admin fee and the £3 booking fee.

We do not transfer tickets so in this instance you can use your credit note to rebook with us.

We do not offer refunds, transfer of tickets or credit notes for cancellations within 4 weeks of the date of a walk or experience. We recommend in this instance that you try to resell/pass on your ticket yourself. If you manage to resell/pass on please let us know who will be attending in your place.

If you need to cancel a Private Hire walk

Due to limited spaces for our bespoke walks, we request that you cancel at least 4 weeks  before the date booked by emailing us at info@dartmoorsdaughter.com

Before cancelling we would like to encourage you to please look on our website at our Private Hire calendar as we can transfer your ticket to another date or you could use your payment for a publicly scheduled walk or experience. Please also ask a friend or family member before cancelling if they would like your ticket.

If you do need to cancel and have given us 4 weeks’ notice we will send you a credit note (minus the £3 booking fee and minus a £5 admin fee) to use within 1 year for a bespoke walk or any of our publicly scheduled walks or nature connection experiences.

If you do not cancel prior to the 4 weeks’ notice, you will lose full payment.

If you need to cancel a Private Talk

Due to limited spaces for our Private Talks, we request that you cancel at least 4 weeks before the date booked by emailing us at info@dartmoorsdaughter.com

Before cancelling we would like to encourage you to reschedule.

If we need to cancel or postpone

Weather can be unpredictable on Dartmoor so weather forecasts are not always reliable. The majority of Dartmoor’s Daughter walks and experiences will go ahead come rain or shine. However, if there are strong winds or storm warnings so that the conditions are dangerous or deeply unpleasant, then we may need to postpone to ensure the group's safety. We will let you know 12-24 hours pre-walk.

Also, some of our walks cannot take place if the weather is not conducive:

  • For astronomy evenings, if there is cloud cover we try to provide an indoor back up plan.

  • For children’s activities when lightning is forecast.

  • When it’s too windy or rainy for dowsing or art walks, or when there is thick snow forecast or on the ground preventing travel.

If we have to postpone we will send you a credit note to use for or towards another Dartmoor’s Daughter walk or experience within one year of the date of postponement.

Refunds

Sorry but we do not give refunds unless under exceptional circumstances, and if we decide to refund we will do so minus the original booking fee plus an administration fee of £5.

We have seen a significant number of cancellations over the past few years, and as a very small organisation we have suffered. As a consequence we now have a strict no refund policy - we do hope you understand and will continue to support us.

Risk Policy

Please note, all walks and activities are undertaken at your own risk. Dartmoor’s Daughter accepts no liability for accidents or incidents.
