My Hidden Dartmoor - Talk at Two Moors Festival

Collage.jpeg

Dartmoor is an ancient, wild, and beautiful landscape where people have lived and worked for thousands of years. With the benefit of childhood adventures and walks, Emma spent many years climbing majestic tors; swimming in copper-gold coloured rivers; and exploring off the beaten track as she continues to do today.

Emma's maternal family has lived on or near Dartmoor for generations, and the land, it’s people, and wildlife hold a special place in their hearts. In the 1950s her grandfather Eric Hemery offered guided walks, pony treks, and talks. He went on to write a series of well-regarded books, including 'High Dartmoor', described as “the bible for anyone who has the spirit of Dartmoor”.

Continuing in her family’s footsteps, Emma is an experienced and passionate Walking Guide, Nature-Connection Facilitator, and Health & Life Coach. She loves nothing better than to share Dartmoor’s wild, ancient - and often hidden - landscapes with people.

Cost £10.

Programme of events

TWO MOORS FESTIVAL 11th-20th October
The Two Moors Festival is unique: a nationally renowned festival where our audiences can experience and enjoy remarkable live music first hand in some of the most remote, beautiful - and culturally underserved - corners of England.

Each October arts centres, village halls, churches, country houses and sometimes even railway stations and indoor markets across 1,200 square miles of Dartmoor and Exmoor spring to life with inspirational performances, talk, exhibitions, schools workshops and masterclasses. Over a quarter of our tickets cost £12 or less and we also have plenty of “Live for Five” tickets available for children and students age 30 and under.
