Ancient Stones & Afternoon Tea

Enjoy a fascinating walk on Gidleigh Common exploring prehistoric sites such as chambered cairns, ruined round houses, and a stunning stone circle followed by a delicious cream tea or homemade cake made by volunteers raising money for beautiful Holy Trinity Church. Afterwards, we will stroll back to our cars along an ancient track through fields, woodland, and pretty country lanes.

LEVEL: MODERATE. Approximately 7km/4 miles in hilly and open moorland, ancient tracks, and pretty country lanes through hamlets and farmsteads.

(Route is dependent on weather conditions and group pace).

LOCATION: Park just off the track leading to Buttern Farm, Gidleigh

National Grid Reference: SX 658 895

Driving directions/any final details will be emailed approximately a week before the walk; please remember to check your junk email folder.
Please car share where possible. Parking is limited on Dartmoor and sharing lessens our impact on the environment. Thank you.
