Templer Way Walk - Chapple Road to Stover Country Park

Enjoy a fascinating walk following a section of the historic Granite Tramway through woodland, meadow, and quiet lanes to Stover Country Park. Along the way we will explore history, flora and fauna, as well as hear about the restoration of Stover Park which is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. When we have finished the walk, a campfire and delicious hot meal will be waiting for us in the roundhouse at Stover Country Park.

LEVEL: MODERATE - 8.5km or 5 1/4miles (with 61m elevation). Mostly easy walking following The Templer Way along tracks, footpaths, and country roads. There is one short but steep hill up to Teigngrace Meadow and then down again so participants will need to be fit and comfortable spending 3-4 hours in hilly moorland and woodland terrain.

This walk is for people aged 18 years and over.

LOCATION: Stover Country Park - Stover Country Park, Newton Abbot TQ12 6QG
Please car share where possible. Parking is limited on Dartmoor and sharing lessens our impact on the environment, thank you.
