Join Dartmoor’s Daughter for a short stroll to a beautiful river swimming spot. You can swim, picnic on the banks of the river, play human ‘Pooh Sticks’, and enjoy the beautiful views. Children must be good swimmers or have arm bands and be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Dartmoor is a stunning natural environment and our intention will be to 'leave no trace' please.

FEE & BOOKING: £4 per adult/child. Payment to karebear1703@live.co.uk. Group size is limited to 20 to ensure enjoyment for all, so pre-booking is essential. A donation from all walks will be given to Donate for Dartmoor and the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Teams.


Further Information

LEVEL: EASY Approximately 1 mile - out and back walk. The path is rocky so unsuitable for pushchairs sorry.

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING: Warm layers (to put on after swimming as the rivers are cold), sturdy walking shoes, waterproof jacket and trousers (Dartmoor weather is unpredictable), sunscreen, swimming costume and towel, as well as lunch, snacks, and drinks.
Sorry no dogs.

MEETING TIME & PLACE: 10.15am for 10.30am walking start at a small car parking area above Okehampton Army Camp - directions will be sent a week prior. We will finish at 1pm.
CAR SHARING IS ESSENTIAL please as there is only space for parking 4-5 cars.

CANCELLATIONS: The walk will go ahead come rain or shine. Sorry no refunds if you are unable to attend.
